Rising Sun Workshop started as a crowdfunded pop up in 2014. After a six month run they found their current location and spent the next two years renovating with the help of the community! They offer four signature ramen:
"The Darkness", A roast pork bone, shoyu ramen featuring free range pork and chickens from the NSW Southern Highlands
"The Light". An assari chicken and dashi stock with a shio tare of smoked salt, garlic, ginger and apple
"The Monk". Our vegetarian ramen uses seaweed and shitake dashi, given weight with roast vegetable miso.
"The Brekky". Roast bone stock thickened with buttered toast and garnished with eggs, tomato and bacon. Nick Smith is the Head Ramen chef, and he is self-taught from Newtown!
